HORSEFEATHER

horsefeather

You could trace this cocktail’s lineage back to the “Horse’s Neck”, first published in the cocktail book “Drinks” by Jacques Straub of the Blackstone Hotel in 1914. Back then, the drink was non-alcoholic; just a glass of ginger beer with a lemon rind garnish. But from that point forward we have seen many iterations of the drink. The most famous being the “Moscow Mule” using Vodka, Ginger Beer, and Lime in a copper mug.

The Horsefeather first appeared in Lawrence, Kansas in the 1990s, and utilizes either Rye or Blended Whiskey, with Ginger Beer, Angostura Bitters, and a squeeze of lemon. We’ve perfected the now modern classic using our Kansas City Whiskey.
