MONOGRAM MULLED WINE

Features: Rieger Gin

A 2nd-century creation of the Roman Empire mulled wine was originally more of a defense against the cold than a festive celebratory holiday drink. Although our version fits the general framework, we have added in addition styles of rich fortified wine, fresh citrus, and a backbone of Midwestern Dry Gin.

NEW YORK SOUR

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

The New York Sour is a common cocktail variation of the classic Whiskey Sour. Due to massive popularity throughout the 20th century, many imbibers around the world are familiar with its silky and citrusy experience. Here we expand that experience with the float of red wine, adding a touch of dryness and a delicate undertone of ripe red berries.

OLD DOG, NEW TRICKS

Features:
Rieger Vodka

A twist on both popular brunch cocktails, the greyhound and the salty dog, this cocktail drinks as great at 9am as 9pm. Juicy, tart, and just the right touch of bitter grapefruit flavor give this one top shelf quaffability. A little salt along the rim keeps your palate asking for another bite from this rabid mix.

OLD MAID

Features: Rieger Vodka

This is a cocktail family new to the modern era; ushered in by  NYC bartender Sam Ross. Although the foundation of this cocktail is lime, mint, and cucumber, you can add in your choice of base spirit for a refreshing and versatile treat.

POMPONETTE SNAP

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

The Daisy cocktail family is most notably known by the infamous Margarita. This whiskey daisy riff adds in some preserves to help carry across the bright fruit flavor we would normally see from the use of dry curaçao in the classic format.

SOUTHSIDE FIZZ

Features: Rieger Gin

This cocktail is a gin lovers best kept secret. The cooling nature of the mint and juniper, plus the refreshing zip of the lemon and mineral water make for the perfect backyard sipper.

NEGRONI

Features: Rieger Gin

Although the origins are mostly unknown, we've been enjoying the dynamic sips of the Negroni for nearly 100 years. Light aromatics and sweetness from the vermouth are balanced out by the fruity, bitter, and botanical blend of gin and Campari.

O-REN ISHII

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

Julie was a long-standing favorite bartender at The Rieger restaurant, located in the historic Rieger Hotel building. She created many cocktails over the years (usually inspired by Tarantino films) but this is one of our very favorites. Tart, boozy, and refreshing. You don't see many drinks out there using passionfruit, but if you can find some passionfruit puree, this one is worth the extra effort.

OLD FASHIONED

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

The first to be attached to the term 'cocktail', this classic mixture has a history that dates back to the early 1800’s. A deceptively simple concoction that is strong and spiced, but with a sweet side that makes it approachable in a way only an enduring classic can be.

PENDERGAST

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

With the addition of the sweet vanilla and herbal complexity of Benedictine liqueur, this drink is like a Manhattan cocktailNamed after KC’s infamous political boss Tom Pendergast, this cocktail’s formula and character have made it a local classic.

ROYAL BYERS PUNCH

Features:
Kansas City Whiskey

Punches are fantastic for serving large groups. They are beautiful, elegant, layered with flavors, and deceptively potent. A great way to kick off a dinner party is with a bowl of punch. This recipe was created by J. Rieger & Co. Co-Founder Ryan Maybee and has become a tradition at his home with his family and neighbors, owners of the historic Byers Mansion. To learn more about the vast history of punch and plenty of recipes, read 'Punch: The Delights and Dangers of the Flowing Bowl', by David Wondrich.

SPRING SPRITZ

Features: Rieger Gin

Featuring the familiar combination of base spirit and sparkling wine, this cocktail is flavored with Chareau, an aloe based liqueur with cucumber, spearmint, and melon as well as Suze, a classic Swiss aperitif, noted for its flavor of citrus and the distinct presence of the bitter root gentian. The flavor of this cocktail is herbal, vegetal, bubbly and refreshingly dry!
